The 2009 International Saimoe League postseason picture begins to be a bit more clearer with each passing match.

As a number of candidates see their quest for their tiara come to an end, there is the matter of two more necklaces to be won. The penultimate round-robin phase is for the Ruby necklace.

True to her name, Shinku, which means Pure Ruby in Japanese, rose to first in the early standings with a 2124-572 muscle-flexing of Ayumu "Osaka" Kasuga in Katowice, Poland.

Defending champion Fate Testarossa Harlaown prevailed over Mai Kawasumi 1744-1265 in Bangkok, Thailand. Haruhi Suzumiya, the defending Ruby holder, bounced back from her loss to Tomoyo Sakagami with a 2095-963 pasting of Misuzu Kamio in New York City.

Suiseiseki maintained her momentum from winning the Emerald necklace with a 1580-1376 victory over Taiga Aisaka in Paris, France. Suigintou secured the Rozen Maiden sweep with a 1803-1306 victory over Mikuru Asahina in Los Angeles, USA.

The Lucky Star girls also rolled to another sweep. Konata Izumi shredded Saber 1683-1329 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Tsukasa Hiiragi overwhelmed Amu Hinamori in Buenos Aires, and Kagami Hiiragi secured the sweep with a 1538-1178 doimination of Fuuko Ibuki in Manila.

The girls of the TSAB also cruised to a sweep. Aside from Fate winning, Nanoha Takamachi busted Aya Shameimaru without breaking a sweat in a 1950-660 wipeout in Milan, Vita prevailed over Shiki Ryogi 1282-1037 in Mexico City, Mexico and Hayate Yagami edged Yuuhi Katagiri 1409-1373 in Toronto, Canada.

In other action to open the Ruby phase...Holo chomped up Ayu Tsukimiya 1910-1170 in Tokyo, Japan; Rika Furude routed Nayuki Minase 1831-945 in Mumbai, India; Sao Paulo, Brazil saw Nagi Sanzen'in tear up Makoto Sawatari 2071-774; Illyasviel von Einzbern flattened Alice Carroll 1732-839 in Shanghai and Hinagiku Katsura whipped past Hanyuu Furude 1815-1266 in Lagos, Nigeria.

Shiori Misaka defeated Kallen Kozuki 1357-1009 in Seoul, Korea Republic; Rin Tosaka scored an easy 2003-878 win over Remilia Scarlet in Karachi, Pakistan; Yuki Nagato trounced Louise Francoise Le Blanc De La Valliere 1808-975 in Dhaka, Bangladesh; C.C. has an easy time against Akari Mizunashi, with a 1889-828 domination in Cairo, Egypt and Kyou Fujibayashi punched out Sayuri Kurata 2020-952 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Tomoyo Sakagami kept the kicks flying and law laid in a 2123-714 dismembering of Kirino Chiba in Istanbul, Turkey; Anya Earlstreim won a thrilling 1334-1330 victory over Marisa Kirisame in Moscow, Russia; Index L. Prohibitorum routed Nagi 1379-939 in Tehran, Iran; Konjiki no Yami (Golden Darkness) scored an impressive 1770-1157 victory over Rena Ryuuguu in Lima, Peru; Sakura Kinomoto crushed Evangeline A.K. McDowell 1694-922 in Bogota and Mei Sunohara delivered a stirring 1733-906 victory over Reimu Hakurei in Santiago, Chile.

Wrapping up action today...Ami Kawashima was all business against Mikoto Misaka in a 1527-1022 victory in Kinshasa,, Congo Dr; Shana defeated Maria 1817-1391 in Algiers, Algeria; Nagisa Furukawa laid the dango on Patchouli Knowledge 2058-662 in Madrid, Spain and Kotomi Ichinose dusted off Minori Kushieda 1787-1239 in Sydney, Australia.
