Meiko Honma seizes Aquamarine Bracelet

Despite a very disappointing turnout, according to the Bedlam on Baltic Avenue, we have a new winner of the 2012 International Saimoe League Aquamarine Necklace.

Kanade Tachibana finished with 2,890 votes in the Necklace match, beating Mikoto Misaka's 2,546 votes to win the Aquamarine with a calculation of 47.678.

Eucliwood Hellscythe was third in the match with 2,318 votes and finished fourth in the calculation with 45.180 points. Taiga Aisaka was fourth in the match with 2,252 votes and finished with a calculation of 47.124, good for second. Shana was fifth with a 1,950 votes and earned a necklace score of 42.835, good for fifth. Kirino Kousaka was sixth in the voting with 913 votes, and was last in the calculation with 33.043. Yuri Nakamura was last with 737 votes and finished sixth in the overall calculation with a score of 34.772 points.

"I think it was a very good run," said Tachibana at the press conference in Tokyo. "My voters decided to give me a chance to win something and now I go into the rest of the season with enough momentum to last me well into the postseason.

"I am thrilled to have won the Aquamarine. It means a lot to me."

Meanwhile, Meiko Honma earned 2,233 votes in a special exhibition to win the Aquamarine Bracelet. Tsumugi Kotobuki was second with 2,196 votes. Riko Mine was third with 2,2027 votes, Yuno Gasai was fourth with 1,891 votes, Mafuyu Shiina was fifth with 1,707 votes, Hecati was sixth with 1,680 votes and Mizuki Himeji was last with 1,546 votes.

"I'm not expected to earn the respect of the voters this year, but I can full say that with this bracelet, I am very happy to be here," Honma said. "I thank the voting public for giving me a chance to shine this year. You all are awesome!"

Three other group exhibitions also took place. In the first exhibition, Homura Akemi won with 2,383 votes over Karen Araragi's 2,376 votes. Kagami Hiiragi was third with 2,113 votes, Fuuko Ibuki was fourth with 2,039 votes, Miu Takanashi was fifth with 1,915 votes, Fate Testarossa was sisxth with 1,904 votes and Marika Katou was last with 483 votes.

Konata Izumi took the second group exhibition with 2,736 votes. Tsukihi Araragi was second with 2,608 votes. Ushio Okazaki and Sora Takanashi were tied for third with 2,110 votes, Nanoha Takamachi was fifth with 1,1714 votes, Rika Furude was sixth with 1,423 votes and Kurihara Chiaki was last with 456 votes.

Mei Misaki rounded out the last exhibition, winning 3,041 votes to beat Last Order's 2,934 votes. Ayase Aragaki was third with 2,164 votes. Misaki Ayuzawa was fourth with 1,804 votes, Yuuko Kinoshita was fifth with 1,124 votes, Millhiore Firianno Biscotti was sixth with 1,083 votes and Sana Inui was last with 1,082 votes.

Rounding out the exhibitions, Ai Nanasaki routed Ai Haibara 6039-4967, Tsurara Oikawa annihilated Ruki Kuchiki 5869-4653, Azuka Langley Soryuu defeated Aoi Yamada 5486-5326 and Io Otonashi and Tsumiki Miniwa defeated Teiichi Niiya and Yuuko Kanoe 6149-4698.
