ISML 2014: Emerald Period Kicks Off

Match Day 1 of the 2014 International Saimoe League Emerald Period concluded and there were no upsets this round. All the usual suspects took their wins heading into Match Day 2. Let's take a look at the action from Emerald 1.

NOVA DIVISION

In the Nova Division, Nanami Aoyama hung Yui 2900-1941, Kurimi Tokisaki blasted Yaya 3174-1683, Sanae Dekomori defeated Karuta Roromiya 2457-2090, Rin Natsume prevailed over Noumi Kudryavka 2136-1870, Azusa Azuki routed Shiori Shiomiya 2905-1631 and Kotori Itsuki crowned Yukino Yukinoshita 3033-1882.

Eru Chitanda dismantled Touka Takanashi 2995-1820, Yoshino crushed Yukina Himeragi 3179-1657, Rikka Takanashi throttled Mikan Yuuki 2997-1867, Momo Velia Deviluke defeated Charlotte Belew 2415-1978, Tohka Yatogami hammered Haqua du Lot Herminium 2871-1878 and Ririchiyo Shirakiin defeated Furano Yukihira 2309-2057.

Wrapping up Nova play, Shinka Nibutani cruised past Origami Tobiiichi 2764-2133, Nyarlathotep defeated Laura Bodewig 2366-2018, Misaki Shokuhou won a 2366-2313 thriller over Chocolat, Kuroyukihime flew past Mirai Kuriyama 3084-1756, Asuna Yuuki slashed past Kurousagi 2826-2111 and Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi romped past Suguha Kirigaya 3031-1808.

STELLA DIVISION

In the Stella Division, Yozora Mikazuki won the closest race of the day: a 2204-2172 barnburner over Shouko Kirishima. Kanade Tachibana sliced and diced Yuri Nakamura 3344-1441, Kurisu Makise defeated Illyasviel von Einzbern 2420-2057, defending champion Ruri Gokou ran past Inori Yuzuriha 2803-2219, Konjiki no Yami whipped past Last Order 2518-2138 and Azusa Nakano romped past Charlotte Dunois 2663-2029.

Yuki Nagato defeated Hinagiku Katsura 2340-2162, Masami Iwasawa prevailed over Nadeko Sengoku 2314-2206, Kirino Kousaka rolled past Hitagi Senjougahara 2614-2114, Taiga Aisaka roared past Eucliwood Hellscythe 2537-2488, Victorique de Blois took out Meiko Honma 2362-2034 and Mashiro Shiina rocked Yui-nyan 3136-1827.

Wrapping up Stella play, Kobato Hasegawa defeated Yui Hirasawa 2548-2157, Mikoto Misaka electrocuted Shana 2866-2127, Ayase Aragaki routed Erio Touwa 2896-1745, Mio Akiyama boomed past Shinobu Oshino 2741-2002, Haruhi Suzumiya dominated Sora Kasugano 2600-2050 and Sena Kashiwazaki eked out a 2428-2361 victory over Saber.

In special exhibition play, Enju Aihara made a case to be in the show next year with a 3466-715 demolition of Tsugumi Harudori. Meanwhile, Shizuru Nakatsu defeated Emi Ibarazaki in a more modest margin of victory, 1920-1427.
