One of the unique dynamics of the International Saimoe League is that any competitor can bounce back from a setback with a win, and any competitor with a big win can follow it up with a loss. It takes a constant name with leverage to pull up wins on a consistent basis, and Match Day 4 of the 2016 International Saimoe League Aquamarine Period illustrated that.

In the female devision, Iroha Isshiki defeated Shirayuki 1461-963, Madoka Kaname stunned Urara Shiraishi 1228-1158, Kuroko Shirai shot down Taiga Aisaka 1540-1070, Kurousagi bounced past Nagisa Furukawa 1352-882, Rize Tedeza delivered the Upset of the Round: a 1427-1293 scalp of Chiyo Sakura, Kotori Minami thrashed Nagi Sanzen'in 1471-779, Maki Nishikino prevailed over Erina Nakiri 1246-1170 and Ayase Aragaki pulverized Nozomi Toujou 1724-894.

In the Male Division, Saitama won a 1152-1135 thriller over Yashiro Isana, Shintarou Kisaragi defeated Bell Cranel 1184-912, Rintarou Okabe rolled past Yukine 1060-889, Ryuunosuke Akasaka crushed Leonardo Watch 1134-855, Tomoya Okazaki leveled Ayato Amagiri 1080-943, Zen Wistalia scored the closest victory of the round: a 998-986 nailbiter over Ichimatsu Matsuno, Iskandar punched Ken Kaneki 1409-1224 and Kousei Arima flattened Youji Itami 1576-684.

In Winter Diadem action, Yumi burned Irisdina Bernhard 944-794 and Sayuki Kuroda defeated Clarion 984-893.
