Don't Phunk With My Heart

No, no, no, no, don’t phunk with my heart
(Yeah)
No, no, no, no, don’t phunk with my heart

I wonder if I take you home
Would you still be in love, baby (in love, baby)
I wonder if I take you home
Would you still be in love, baby (in love, baby)

Girl, you know you got me, got me
With your pistol shot me, shot me
And I’m here helplessly
In love and nothing can stop me
You can’t stop me cause once I start it
Can’t return me cause once you bought it
I’m coming baby, don’t got it (don’t make me wait)
So let’s be about it

No, no, no, no, don’t phunk with my heart

Baby, have some trustin’, trustin’
When I come in lustin’, lustin’
Cause I bring you that comfort
I ain’t only here cause I want ya body
I want your mind too
Interestin’s what I find you
And I’m interested in the long haul
Come on girl (yee-haw)

I wonder if I take you home
Would you still be in love, baby (in love, baby)
I wonder if I take you home
Would you still be in love, baby (in love, baby)

No, no, no, no, don’t phunk with my heart

Girl, you had me, once you kissed me
My love for you is not iffy
I always want you with me
I’ll play Bobby and you’ll play Whitney
If you smoke, I’ll smoke too
That’s how much I’m in love with you
Crazy is what crazy do
Crazy in love, I’m a crazy fool

No, no, no, no, don’t phunk with my heart

Why are you so insecure
When you got passion and love her
You always claimin’ I’m a cheater
Think I’d up and go leave ya
For another señorita
You forgot that I need ya
You must’ve caught amnesia
That’s why you don’t believe
Well, yeah, check it out.

Don’t you worry ‘bout a thing, baby
Cause you know you got me by a string, baby
Don’t you worry ‘bout a thing, baby
Cause you know you got me by a string, baby

Baby girl, you make me feel
You know you make me feel so real
I love you more than sex appeal
(Cause you’re)
That-tha, that tha, that-tha, that girl
That-tha, that tha, that-tha, that girl
That-tha, that tha, that-tha, that girl
That-tha, that tha, that-tha, that girl
That-tha, that tha, that-tha, that girl

No, no, no, no, don’t phunk with my heart
That-tha, that tha, that-tha, that girl
No, no, no, no, don’t phunk with my heart
That-tha, that tha, that-tha, that girl

I wonder if I take you home
Would you still be in love, baby (in love, baby)
I wonder if I take you home
Would you still be in love, baby (in love, baby)
I wonder if I take you home
Would you still be in love, baby (in love, baby)
I wonder if I take you home
Would you still be in love, baby (in love, baby)

Don’t you worry ‘bout a thing, baby
Cause you know you got me by a string, baby
Don’t you worry ‘bout a thing, baby
Cause you know you got me by a string, baby…

Patrick Dangerfield: 2016 AFL Brownlow Medal Winner

GEELONG superstar Patrick Dangerfield has capped his glittering season with the most prestigious individual award of all, breaking records to win the 2016 Brownlow Medal.

Dangerfield polled a record 35 votes to win from Sydney Swans midfielder Luke Parker (26) and Richmond star Dustin Martin (25), breaking away in a thrilling finish at Crown Palladium.

The 26-year-old had a four-vote lead going into round 22 and he sealed the win with two votes against the Brisbane Lions, taking his total to an unassailable 32.

To underline the greatness of his season, he polled three votes in round 23 to finish on a record total, surpassing Collingwood winner Dane Swan's 34 votes from 2011.

His margin of nine votes was also a record dating back to 1977 when both field umpires awarded 3-2-1 votes. Gary Ablett's eight-vote win in 2009 was the previous highest.

Dangerfield also polled in 15 games to set a new mark and matched the record nine best on grounds set by 1994 winner Greg Williams and matched by Fremantle superstar Nat Fyfe last year.

Ineligible Adelaide star Rory Sloane polled 24 votes to finish fourth having sat as high as second after 20 rounds.

Favourite to win the award since round one, Dangerfield said the past three days had been an emotional rollercoaster after bowing out with unfinished business in a preliminary final.

Still bitter at that loss, the enormity of the Brownlow Medal only became clear to him Monday night when watching a tribute to late Cats great and 1989 winner Paul Couch.

"You think of the past players to win the medal and what it actually means," Dangerfield said.

"It didn't hit me until halfway through the night with the scenes of Paul Couch and the older Geelong players talking about him.

"My mind is racing now, as is my heart, so it's hard to articulate it properly, but it's something I'll look back on with great pride."

Dangerfield paid tribute to Adelaide, his football home for eight seasons, with former teammate Eddie Betts watching on during his press conference.

He said moving to Geelong in 2016 and playing alongside captain Joel Selwood had helped him become a better player.

"His will and desire to be better and to stand up in the big moments, I've learned so much from him and from so many other players at the club," he said.

"Moving back (to Geelong), all of a sudden there are no question marks around next season … it's home and it's home for good.

"All you have to worry about is footy and that life balance that I think is really important is easy to find and easy to achieve."

Parker was the early bolter, racing to the lead with 13 votes after six rounds and giving the assembled Swans at a function at the SCG reason to cheer.

Dangerfield hit the front for the first time in round seven, polling three votes to take his tally to 14, but consecutive voteless games saw Parker regain the lead on 15 votes in round nine as the pair jostled.

After round 11, Swans midfielder Dan Hannebery moved into equal second with Dangerfield on 14 votes, with the Geelong superstar going four straight matches without polling.

He was back on the board – and back in the lead – with three votes in round 12 for the best game of his season, amassing 48 possessions, 13 clearances, 11 inside 50s and two goals against North Melbourne.

Parker proved hard to shake, however, and the pair was tied on 20 votes at the end of the bye rounds in round 15, setting up a showdown in the last eight weeks of the season.

In other awards, Eddie Betts won Goal of the Year for the second straight season for his brilliant right-foot snap on the boundary against Greater Western Sydney in round 10.

North Melbourne's Majak Daw won Mark of the Year for his soaring grab against Collingwood in round 18, edging out Essendon forward Joe Daniher.

Geelong champion Jimmy Bartel took home the Jim Stynes Community Leadership Award for his work campaigning against domestic violence in 2016.

Back On The Rocks! Be There!

In less than a month, my heart, mind and soul will be on something other than soccer, Los Angeles, California, AFL, NRL, Vine banter, tumblr postings, and America in general. The details are still being flushed out, but in less than three weeks, I leave for Canada. I am heading to Vancouver to spend a few days, take plenty of photos, take plenty of action shots, and celebrate the Canadian Thanksgiving, which doubles as Columbus Day in the United States. More on that in a bit.

Spring will turn to summer in Australia, but first, the winter will have to end and right now, it is, with a focus on cricket, basketball, and soccer. Teams in the A-Leeague and W-League are reloading and refreshing and in some special cases, resetting. The AFL and NRL seasons are concluding and there is a chance that the NRL's premier will be from Victoria and the AFL's premier will be from New South Wales.

I think to myself, as my updated iPad belts out an Atlas Genius ballad: can Greater Western Sydney win two more games and live up to the words of its bold fight song that go, "You feel the ground a-shaking, the other teams are quaking in their boots before the Giants!" Already their reserve team have won the North East Australian Football League flag, their first-ever piece of palmares. (Yes, I am using the French term for honors.) Maybe a flag double is in the offing. Of course, if Hawthorn FC defeat the Western Bulldogs, it's a matter of "take your pick."

I don't have too much motivation to make a sequel to "Butterflies and Dragons." I enjoyed the journey, I enjoyed writing the story, but I don't feel obliged to write a follow-up yet. I have a Gochiusa vignette that is being drafted, which will parallel with my escapades in Vancouver. If I can surmise something of note, I might decide to make this last a few chapters, maybe 10-20.

Having a strong period of rest is going to be necessary for me to keep my mind in check, keep my mind in focus. My mom bought a new luggage case for me, and I will be bringing it to go with my new knapsack and my Anime Expo 10 Years bag, to show that I am an anime fan heading into Vancouver. All that is really needed is for my sister to provide me with the cash needed for lodging and for any food or souvenir expenses.

I can't wait to post the album of my trip to Canada, and I plan to use up as much camera space to provide everyone with my journey. Hopefully no snags take place on the trip, and I am able to enjoy the journey without any problems. Because of this, my Bold Predictions for the Ruby Period may be impacted, and no voting will be taking place for a good deal of the matches. However, I will be posted recaps of all the action that took place in the rounds I didn't get to vote on here on The Bedlam on Baltic Avenue. Look forward to it!

Nanggigigil.

Hyped for my Canada trip next month.
