Match Day 9 of the 2018 International Saimoe League Amethyst Period closes out this period. And In a classic battle of big names from present and past, Chtholly Nota Seniorious outlasted Ai Haibara 13226-12273 to win the 2018 International Saimoe League Amethyst Necklace. Listed as a 7-1 third choice, the Speaker of the Saimoe Diet fended off a strong challenge from Haibara, who was listed as 40-1 to win the Necklace, and whose odds are expected to shorten for the next round's necklace. Rounding off the order were Kamui Kanna (5725), Yukino Yukinoshita (3026), Kurisu Makise (2272), Kurumi Tokisaki (1865), Shiro (1504) and Saber (1028).
At 20-1, Rintarou Okabe was a dark horse to take the Amethyst Pendant, but he also faced a tough battle with Gilgamesh, a 70-1 longshot whose victory would have been one of the Upsets of the Season. The Upset of the Season contender was not to be, as Okabe won 8890-8789 to take the Pendant. Rounding out the order were Riku Dola (5855), Nagisa Shiota (4265), Tomoya Okazaki (3549), Archer (3128), Ainz Ooal Gown (2086) and Kiritsugu Emiya (1628).
Surviving the cut in the Wild Card on the Female Division side were Yoshino (11308), Chiyo Sakura (11139), Meiko Honma (11086), C.C. (10949), Jibril (10176), Aqua (9981), Tohka Yatogami (9708), Nero Claudius (9664) and Mayuri Shiina (9355).
In the Male Division Wild Card, surviving the cut were Satoshi (9061), Koyomi Araragi (9415), Inuyasha (8858), Monkey D. Luffy (8849), Izayo Sakamaki (7489), Izaya Orihara (7542), Shizuo Heiwajima (7427), Ciel Phantomhive (7621), and Masamune Izumi (8021).
In Spring Seasonal action, Karen Kohiruimaki routed Mu 11102-7941, Kaoruko Moeta defeated Teletha Testarosa 10118-7643, Narumi Momose rolled past Alexandra Magritte (7216), Teresa Wagner prevailed over Ann Takamaki 9834-7431, Airi got past Anzu 9388-9194 and Special Week eased past Iroha Igarashi 8564-8170.
Wrapping up Spring Seasonal action, Suzuha Amane routed Hitomi Mishima 12378-7505, Suzuka Silence whipped past Hanako Koyanagi 9916-7067, Ochako Uraraka rocked Hina 10866-7809, Koyume Koizuka flattened Kiyoi Mizushima 10796-5653, Maho Hiyajou raced past Non Katagiri 10680-7426 and in the Upset of the Round, Miyu Shinohara scalped Ruki Irokawa 9070-8226.
