ISML 2011: Konata escapes, Kanade cruises in Preliminaries Day 6

No earthquake was going to stop the International Saimoe League from continuing its daily round of duties. And Konata Izumi had her biggest test of the 2011 International Saimoe League Preliminaries, but she passed it.
By the slimmest of margins in Group 10 action, Izumi defeated Tsumugi Kotobuki 3,689-3,686. Alice finished a distant third.
Kanade Tachibana ran away with the most decisive victory of Match Day 6. Tachibana trounced Mio Isurugi and Nino with 6,622 votes. Kirino Kousaka also ran away a huge winner, destroying Mami Tomoe and Nessa in her Group 13 match with 5,908 votes.
In Group 9, Victorique de Blois crushed Ushio Okazaki and Kazari Uiharu with 4,414 votes. Mikuru Asahina prevailed over Kotomi Ichinose 3,639-3,077 while Lala Satalin Deviluke finished third. Yui Hirasawa scored a statement victory, prevailing over Laura Bodewig and Poplar Taneshima with 4,773 votes.
Also in Group 10, Nagi Sanzen'in had a field day against Astraea and Yin with 4,126 votes. Mikan Yuuki defeated Rose 3,102-2,675 as Haruka Morishima finished last in the contest.
C.C. was all business against Ayumu Nishizawa and Tsurara Oikawa, racking up 4,764 votes. Tomoyo Sakagami whipped past Sakura Kinomoto and Yui Kotegawa with 4,346 votes, while Group 11 favorite Eucliwood Hellscythe stomped Rika Furude and Komoe Tsukuyomi with 5,394 votes.
Match Day 8 should be a dandy in Group 12, with Holo, Yui and Saber settling it out for the automatic spot in the regular season. Holo defeated Seraphim 3,731-3,001 while Chizuru Akaba finished third. Homura Akemi and Stocking had no answer for Yui, who ran away with 5,730 votes. Saber slashed past Haruna and Hanyuu Furude with 4,140 votes.
In other Group 13 action, Kaori Kanzaki took down Hecate 2,914-2,833 while Madoka Kaname finished third in what was a divisive match. Kyou Fujibayashi may prove to be the biggest threat to Kousaka's campaign, as she got past Fate Testarossa 3,783-3,349. Anri Sonohara was left in the dust and finished third.
Kagami Hiiragi is the favorite to take Group 14 for a reason. She trounced Suiseiseki and Asuka Langley Soryu with 4,410 votes. Louise Francoise Le Blanc De La Valliere scored a 3,760-3,581 victory over Shiina from Angel Beats! while Aoi Yamada's disastrous campaign continued. Nagisa Furukawa also took care of business against Minatsu Shiina and Rena Ryuuguu with 3,649 votes.
Ruri Gokou is going to be challenged by the likes of Hitagi Senjougahara and Mafuyu Shiina for the berth in Group 15. Gokou knocked out Souseiseki and Fuuko Ibuki with 5,318 votes. Senjougahara clipped Rei Ayanami and Amu Hinamori with 4,891 votes and Shiina took down Ryoko Okami and Yuuki Kataoka with 3,999 votes.
Rounding out action in Group 16, Nadeko Sengoku pulverized Kanon Nakagawa and Shino Amakusa with 4,648 votes and Rin Tosaka kept hope alive with a win over Cecilia Alcott and Manami Tamura with 4,009 votes.
