Caddie Training Can Piss Me Off Sometimes.

Two weeks into the new season of Pangya, and I am proud to say that I have successfully trained in full (in this order) Pippin, Quma, Lolo, Cadie, Tiki, Mingti, Papel, Dolfini and Titan Boo, the last of who was responsible for a massive spike in my O.B. shots. Stupid Ventus bear. Sometimes the best thing to do is to shut up and let the golfer do her work.

The golfer in question: the new Hana, who has more than 150 games under her belt, like the new Nuri. I use Hana (R) as my main golfer now because she has been equipped with two important NPC cards: Cayman (SR) and Luka (R). The latter gives me a significant pang bonus following a game, while the former is extremely important in that it adds a massive EXP bonus following a game. Combined with the Puff mascot that I recharged a few days ago, I estimate that I will reach the coveted World Pro ranks by early November, if not by the end of the month, assuming I play nothing by 18 hole VS matches with my alt account.

My main account is a National Pro A, while my alt account is a Semi-Pro D. I ended up nerfing a lot of achievement points and six months ago I was a Memorial Level 4. Since I created the alt account, I am now a Memorial Level 22. I was lucky enough to get the Gacha set I wanted on the money that FanSided gave me two weeks ago. That allowed me to complete purchasing the wardrobe of Nuri (R) and Hana (R). I also ended up receiving my first-ever set of Gacha wings through the Memorial Shop, the White Guardian Wings for Hana, after I received a glut of Scratchy Cards.

I kicked them off to Hana (R) along with the Dolfini Headset but what I wasn't happy about was the lack of a fly animation for Hana (R). Not only do I want my main to spread her wings, but I also want to take snaps of the upskirt that ensues because you know me: I'm all for fanservice. As for Nuri (R), who is now my new secondary character, I changed the hair color to be consistent with the classic version (read: black) and now he looks like a member of a Korean boy band, a la TVXQ.

I think that ever since the new Tiki's Magic Ball feature arrived, I ended up nerfing a ton of achievements to the point of abusing the process for the sake of getting those achievement points. The only achievement that need to be cleared in full regarding TIki are the Lucky Day and Material Collector achievements. Once I cleared the milestones for recycling Pang, points and rare items X amount of times, I really didn't have much incentive to use the feature, and only I had cleared the achievements for Charactery Mastery, I really didn't have a lot of incentive to use the feature.

After a run in which I make an achievement nearly every day, it's good to hit a plateau and not be within range of the next one. However, there are a few more that are close to being met, and now I am walking into reaching Memorial Level 23. It's nice to know that I am moving towards being eligible for receiving all but the last 13 Gacha updates, but there are so many rares that I don't have and there are so many caddies and clubs that I don't have either.

Speaking of caddies, I know that a new caddie named Cien is going to be up on the next Gacha update here. I am mulling giving this a shot but I don't want to spend possibly 50 and realize that I got nothing but useless common items that can help me gain pang and EXP but not much after that. If I do end up getting Cien, that's going to preempt my training of the Big Papel Trio. Big Red Papel, Big Black Papel and Big Papel are the only caddies in my arsenal yet to be fully trained. I am in no rush to fully train these three as I don't believe I gain any incentive to do so in terms of achievements. I will have to train Cien first because I want Nuri to have a love rival to Hana. I like love triangles. Makes for good moneymaking.

So I'll keep slugging away at this, but I am proud to say that I am inching closer to reaching the World Pro ranks. I didn't cut any corners, I played by the rules, I had my highs, I had my lows, but all in all, I kept my faith in this game. Pangya is the gold standard of golf sims, and I am mighty proud to be a loyal Pangyateer.

I Knew You Were Trouble

Once upon a time, a few mistakes ago
I was in your sights, you got me alone
You found me, you found me
You found me-e-e-e-e
I guess you didn't care and I guess I liked that
And when I fell hard, you took a step back
Without me, without me
Without me-e-e-e

And he's long gone
When he's next to me
And I realize, the blame is on me

'Cause I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now, flew me to places I'd never been
Till you put me down
Oh I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now, flew me to places I'd never been
Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground

Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble

No apologies, he'll never see you cry
Pretends he doesn't know that he's the reason why
You're drowning, you're drowning
You're drowning-ing-ing-ing-ing
And I heard you moved on from whispers on the street
A new notch in your belt is all I'll ever be
And now I see, I now I see
I now I see-e-e-e-e

He was long gone
When he met me
And I realize the joke is on me
Hey!

I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now, flew me to places I'd never been
Till you put me down
Oh I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now, flew me to places I'd never been
Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground

Oh, Oh, trouble, trouble, trouble
Oh, Oh, trouble, trouble, trouble

When the saddest fear
Comes creeping in
That you never loved me... or her or anyone or anything
Yeah!

I knew you were trouble when you walked in
Trouble, trouble, trouble
I knew you were trouble when you walked in
Trouble, trouble, trouble!

Must Be The Victory Coming...

It was a fitting way to open the A-League’s 10th season. The biggest club in the land, Melbourne Victory, trouncing the new pretenders the Western Sydney Wanderers in front of 30,083 boisterous fans at Etihad Stadium.

Nine seasons ago, the match between Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory was the talking point of round one as a new state-based rivalry was born. But as the Wanderers fans filed into the stadium to fill their allocation, there was a feeling that this fixture might become the biggest in the competition. The colour and the noise that these two clubs generate reverberates around the country.

The first goal came inside 10 minutes, the second within 20 and the third before the half-hour mark. Melbourne Victory, who haven’t won an opening game since 2006, could hardly have hoped for a better start.

With Matthew Spiranovic and Nikolai Topor-Stanley out of action for Wanderers, there was always going to be questions over the visitors’ threadbare back-line, and it was a horror start for the stand-in centre-half pairing of Antony Golec and Brendan Hammill. If the Wanderers are the masters at parking the bus, this was more reminiscent of Otto at the steering wheel after a few too many brekky bongs.

But while the Wanderers were awful, the Victory were clinical in front of goal with a new look front three featuring Kosta Barbarouses, Archie Thompson and marquee man Besart Berisha. On this evidence alone, Kevin Muscat looks to be onto a winner with his new formation.

Gui Finkler and Barbarouses combined well down the right, and the Wanderers stand-in left back Shannon Cole was under enormous pressure from the very start. Indeed the first goal came after just eight minutes after some tidy build up play between Finkler and Barberouses. New Victory signing Matthieu Delpierre found himself free just six yards out, and there was little Ante Covic could do in the Wanderers goal.

On 19 minutes, Golec handled the ball in the box, and up stepped Berisha. In his first A-League game for the Victory, he was never going to disappoint. A quick look up to pick his spot, a no nonsense run up and Berisha was soon saluting the fans.

Confidence was sky-high for the home side, and even the humble Leigh Broxham wanted to get in on the action. After a couple of attempts from range, Broxham popped up for the Victory’s third goal on 28 minutes. Again it was Barbarouses who bamboozled Cole down the right channel in the build up, and after his shot was blocked, Broxham blazed the ball through the crowded defence into the back of the net.

Mark Bridge pulled one back for the visitors before half-time, but it meant little in the context of the match. The Wanderers, who have built their game around defensive cohesion, looked dazed and confused.

Perhaps this was best summed up by Victory’s fourth and final goal. Under no pressure at all, Golec gave away possession cheaply, and with the defence woefully out of position, Berisha fed Thompson who made no mistake in front of goal.

The Wanderers might put this uncharacteristic performance down to missing players and the distraction of their Asian Champions League commitments, but regardless, the rest of the competition are on notice. This Victory side looks balanced, creative and menacing.

Who Do We Sing For!? We Sing For Wanderers!!!

Western Sydney Wanderers are going to great lengths to ensure their supporters can travel to Saudi Arabia for the final of the Asian Champions League but there is no guarantee female and Jewish supporters will be granted entry visas.

The Wanderers face Al-Hilal in Riyadh on November 1 in the second leg of the continental decider but a section of their supporters may be denied a chance to witness a potential Asian title due to their gender, race or religious background.

The club is in the process of arranging travel packages with the support of Al-Hilal and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation but it will not be known until the end of the week whether unaccompanied females and Jewish supporters will be able to travel due to the strict laws of the nation.

The club has received over 200 enquiries for away tickets and is finalising the travel package – which will cater for match tickets, travel, accommodation and visas – with the blessing of relevant authorities. It is hoped the tour will allow for female supporters to attend but there is still no indication it will be sufficient enough to allow entry for supporters of Jewish background.

Due to conservative legislation, women face difficulties in obtaining tourist visas for Saudi Arabia while those of Jewish heritage, Israelis or even those who have visited Israel, are not permitted entry.

While AFC regulations state a club's fans must be allowed access without prejudice, their stature does not overrule state legislation.

"There needs to be an invitation. We are working with the FFA [Football Federation of Australia], AFC [Asian Football Confederation], the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and Al-Hilal to obtain an invitation for our supporters to travel," a Wanderers spokesman said.

Single women must be in the company of a male relative or their husband and travel with marriage certificates to obtain a tourist visa, or must be escorted at all times as part of a supervised tourism group.

Saudi football has a long history of banning women from attending games. The nation allowed females to attend matches only last year, and under harsh restricitions.

Only selected stadiums cater for segregated sections, which prevent male and female supporters standing next to each other. Under pressure from international organisations, the Saudi Arabian domestic league allowed a number of women to attend the games in reserved sections of the stadium, as per the custom of many public events.

There are also concerns that should female Wanderers fans be granted visas, they will also be seggregated once within King Fahd Stadium. One of the proposed options for the tour is to station supporters in a nearby Gulf nation before the match and fly them into Riyadh for game day, to ensure a safe passage to and from the stadium and in and out of Saudi Arabia.

The club has not yet received any advice for homosexual Wanderers supporters wishing to travel to the second leg, but the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trading states: "Homosexual activity is illegal and penalties include the death penalty."

It is understood Wanderers are working with the AFC to arrange a way for their chairman, Paul Lederer to attend the match under arrangements often reserved for diplomats.

Lederer, who is Jewish, is understood to be keen to attend the match, but faces difficulty in obtaining a visa.

The club hopes Lederer can bypass those laws under unspecified arrangements as an invited special guest of the AFC. Competition regulations state: "Hosting Club and its National Association must guarantee and ensure that access to the stadium will be granted to the AFC delegation, officials and players of the visiting club, sponsors, travelling fans and media without any discrimination of gender, race or nationality."

All About That Bass

Because you know
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass

Yeah, it's pretty clear, I ain't no size two
But I can shake it, shake it
Like I'm supposed to do
'Cause I got that boom boom that all the boys chase
And all the right junk in all the right places

I see the magazine workin' that Photoshop
We know that shit ain't real
C'mon now, make it stop
If you got beauty beauty, just raise 'em up
'Cause every inch of you is perfect
From the bottom to the top

Yeah, my mama she told me don't worry about your size
She says, "Boys like a little more booty to hold at night."
You know I won't be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll
So if that's what you're into then go ahead and move along

 Because you know I'm
All about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass
Hey!

 I'm bringing booty back
Go ahead and tell them skinny bitches that
No I'm just playing. I know you think you're fat
But I'm here to tell ya
Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top

Yeah my mama she told me don't worry about your size
She says, "Boys like a little more booty to hold at night."
You know I won't be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll

ISML 2014: Date A Live To The Top!!!

ISML 2014: Date A Live To The Top!!!
Kotori Itsuka takes Tiara, breaks Date A Live losing streak in ISML

By Jo-Ryan Salazar
The Bedlam on Baltic Avenue
October 6, 2014

Match Day 10 of the 2014 International Saimoe League postseason, the final match day of the 2014 ISML campaign proper, concluded and it was only fitting that Date A Live, a series that had been on the short end of the stick so many times in the regular season and Nova Division Finals, finally got its just rewards. Kotori Itsuka won the Heavenly Tiara and becomes the Saimoe Leader Of The Free World for 2015, defeating Mashiro Shiina 4906-4613.

What makes this victory even more impressive is the volume of voters in Eastern Europe, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea that voted for Itsuka. Shiina had won handily in Russia, the Middle East, Australia, the Philippines, Africa and New Zealand, but due to xenophobic bias in Japan and Korea, Itsuka was able to win votes through the heart of the voting blocks: East Asia. It is not certain whether or not this will translate to a resurgence in 2channel, but this victory was nonetheless a sweet one for Kotori, who celebrated the victory at lunchtime at a rally in downtown Tokyo.

"To all my supporters, there is only one word that sums up my emotions after winning the Tiara and the rights to being the Saimoe Leader of the Free World: FINALLY!" Itsuka exclaimed, to the roar of the crowd. "I want to thank Kurumi, Touka, Yoshino and Origami for a great campaign and for their support. And I want to thank Shidou for his dedication to our cause and for vouching all of us. Most importantly, this victory is for you, and I want to thank you all for being with me on this journey.

"We made history. We got over the hump. And we're going to do it all over against next year so look out for us. Thank you, world! Thank you, everyone! Thank you, ISML!"

Kanade Tachibana finished third place after defeated Ayase Aragaki 5081-4096, Nanami Aoyama ended up fifth after edging Kuroyukihime 4714-4519, Taiga Aisaka roared past Ruri Gokou 4953-4220 to finish seventh, Kurumi Tokisaki defeated Asuna Yuuki 4753-4571 to finish ninth, and Yoshino ended up 11th after defeating Shana 4803-4434, completing a Date A Live sweep on the last match day proper.

In other exhibition results, Chitoge Kirisaki prevailed over Kosaki Onodera 4228-3837, Shiro hammered Enju Aihara 5143-3722, Mare S Ephemeral rolled past Akane Senri 3999-2913, Komari Koshigaya dismantled Alice Cartalet 3865-3097, Komurasaki throttled Utage Douraku 4232-3570 and Yume Ototsu thumped Tamamo Sakuraba 3810-2749. With Ephemeral's victory, she wins the Visual Novel Exhibition Series.

This concludes the 2014 International Saimoe League coverage on the Bedlam on Baltic Avenue. Stay tuned next year for coverage of the 2015 International Saimoe League. Keep it here on the Bedlam for continuing coverage of the 2014 2channel Anime Saimoe Tournament!

South Sydney Rabbitohs: 2014 NRL Premiers

Sam Burgess – battered, bruised and victorious – being carried by his teammates and brothers is the iconic image of the 2014 NRL grand final.

Grand finals are often remembered for producing iconic moments that pull at the heartstrings.

Like the stories of the Sattlers, father John revered for his courage, son Scott admired for his determination and desire to win at all costs when he produced ‘that’ tackle.

But the 2014 grand final was the greatest in history for the stories it produced.

There is the tale of four boys from Yorkshire, who came to Australia to find their fortune, mother Julie coming along for the ride. The band of brothers came to South Sydney to ply their trade and hopefully return to England with a premiership. Three boys were instrumental in the victory, with Tom providing strong impact from the bench, yet it was his two older brothers who shone.

The Clive Churchill medal could have gone to either George or Sam, but in the end it was awarded to the older brother, the man who defied a broken cheekbone in the first tackle of the game to soldier on and produce match-winning moments such as his pickup of a grubber on South Sydney’s line.

The Burgess story ends with brother George, who produced the moment of the grand final when he bashed off Tony Williams to score the try that opened the flood gates and left the fans asking who was the real T-Rex?

Yet with happiness comes heartbreak and boy do Souths know heartbreak. This team was thrown of out of the competition in the early 2000s, brought back by people marching on Town Hall.

Souths’ victory was more than just the football, it was justification for the supporters who had fought for the team they loved, a football club that was resurrected directly by the people.

Then came the Hollywood element, with Russell Crowe buying his share in the club, spreading the story far and wide, and seeing a struggling football club become one of the most professional teams in the NRL.

There was the brilliance of Greg Inglis, who surely is one of the game’s greats. Lote Tuqiri hadn’t played in a grand final for 14 years, while his counterpart Alex Johnston who scored his 21st try of the season to get Souths out of the blocks.

Then there was the heroism of the Clive Churchill medalist Sam Burgess and that broken cheekbone, ensuring he will forever be immortalised as he leaves for rugby union.

Not to forget the performance of the Bulldogs, who were right in the game for 60 minutes, and the efforts of James Graham.

It is these stories that showcase why this was the greatest rugby league grand final of all time.

Suds In The Bucket

She was in the backyard - they say it was a little past nine
When her prince pulled up - a white pickup truck
Her folks shoulda seen it comin' - it was only just a matter of time
Plenty old enough - and you can't stop love
She stuck a note on the screen door - "sorry but I got to go"
That was all she wrote - her mama's heart was broke
That was all she wrote - so the story goes

Now her daddy's in the kitchen - starin' out the window
Scratchin' and a rackin' his brains
How could 18 years just up and walk away
Our little pony-tailed girl grown up to be a woman
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye
She left the suds in the bucket
And the clothes hangin' out on the line

Now don't you wonder what the preacher's gonna preach about Sunday morn
Nothin' quite like this has happened here before
Well he must have been a looker - smooth talkin' son of a gun
For such a grounded girl - to just up and run
Course you can't fence time - and you can't stop love

Now all the biddy's in the beauty shop gossip goin' non-stop
Sippin' on pink lemonade
How could 18 years just up and walk away
Our little pony-tailed girl grown up to be a woman
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye
She left the suds in the bucket
And the clothes hangin' out on the line

She's got her pretty little bare feet hangin' out the window
And they're headin' up to Vegas tonight
How could 18 years just up and walk away
Our little pony-tailed girl grown up to be a woman
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye
She left the suds in the bucket
And the clothes hangin' out on the line

She left the suds in the bucket
And the clothes hangin' out on the line

She was in the backyard - they say it was a little past nine
When her prince pulled up - a white pickup truck
Plenty old enough - and you can't stop love

No, you can't fence time - and you can't stop love!

Bible Belt

Well, he was the assistant preacher
And the Sunday school teacher
In the church that I grew up in
She was looker from Atlanta,
Led the choir, played piano
Had a body that was made for sin.

She didn't care that he was married,
'Cause the torch that she carried
Was hotter than the fires of hell
She had plans to seduce him,
If she could, she could loosen
A notch in the bible belt.

So, she called him up at home
When she knew he'd be alone
Said, 'Preacher I could use advice,
I got troubles with a man
that I know you'll understand
If you could help me it would sure be nice.

They met a few minutes after
In the office of the Pastor
And she started telling how she felt
What a chance they were takin'
When they first started breakin'
The laws of the bible belt.

There's a lot of good people
Who are led astray
That believe what the good Book said
Well, I'll tell ya somethin' brother
When you're dealin' with the Devil
It's tough to keep a level head.

And it's hard to imagine
How the flames of passion
Can burn you till your soul will melt
And it'll spread like a cancer
But you're gonna have to answer
To the Lord and the bible belt.

Someone said they went to Vegas,
Back home it didn't take us
Long to hear the news of what they did
Nobody could believe that he
Left his wife to grieve
Alone with two pre-school kids.

I don't know how they're doin'
But I know that they're screwin'
Up a good thing they once had
They better get their heads together
Or they're gonna slap leather
With the Lord and the bible belt.

There's a lot of good people
Who are led astray
That believe what the good Book said
Well, I'll tell ya somethin' brother
When you're dealin' with the Devil
It's tough to keep a level head.

And it's hard to imagine
How the flames of passion
Can burn you till your soul will melt
And it'll spread like a cancer
But you're gonna have to answer
To the Lord and the bible belt.

They better get their heads together
Or they're gonna slap leather
With the Lord and the bible belt...

amen, brother.

2014.10.3.

We walked forward as we gently
and carefully held onto the warmth of our inseparable hearts.
We can change the future with our words
and with my wish that has yet to get an answer.
My ideal self I dreamt of being when I was a child
is still far from me, but if you’re with me,
I feel I can become a bit stronger
and repaint tomorrow with new colors.
Following the hope we called for,
we overcome the world which has come to a halt
and one day, because we didn’t give up, our hearts will become one.
Crying or laughing, let’s welcome the new tomorrow.
Even if the vow we’ve settled on is painful and strikes me down,
it’s so I can protect your heart.
Within the flow of time of no memories,
I’m sure there lies the warmth we search for.
When we get embraced by it, everything
and all my feelings will circle around you.
We held hands and ran as we faced the sky
and held many precious lights in our hearts.
It becomes the radiance within me
and clears away of all of my hesitations.
We break free from a complicated labyrinth with no exit.
The tears you shed woke my heart
and I realized the world I knew so well still had many beautiful sides.
 New possibilities are born
from a wish of a moment in time.
Believing in salvation, I made up my mind.
Standing at the beginning of it all,
 I’ll bring back your smile
 and become a real miracle.

I’ll stay by your side.

Happy Birthday, Madoka Kaname.
