Per ISML law, Itsuka exits the competition permanently despite finishing seventh in the Stella Division and was seen in tears hugging Yatogami, Yoshino and Tobiichi to a standing ovation at the press conference in Tokyo. Aisaka will replace her in the postseason.

"Illyaviel had called me earlier today and told me that she defeated me with a heavy heart and she apologized for it," said Itsuka, brushing aside tears. "I told her, what do you have to be sorry for? These were the best two years I've had being a full-time participant in this tournament. Really, I was only playing for fun in the Stella, while others are hoping to win the Tiara that gives them immortality. I really wished I could have taken part more years in this tournament like so many have. But once I have won the richest prize in competitions like this, I don't have anything else to prove.

"I want to thank everyone for their support they have given me throughout my time in this competition. If there was one thing I did regret, it's not having the option of more seasons to take part in this International Saimoe League, because this is truly the world's premier anime character competition. To everyone else, good luck and I'll be on all your sides the rest of the way. Take care, I love you all. Thank you."

North Queensland Cowboys: 2015 NRL Premiers

An extra-time Johnathan Thurston field goal has sealed North Queensland's first ever premiership in a pulsating decider that will be remembered as one of the greatest Grand Finals ever played.

It came after Thurston had made us wait for him to claim his moment, hitting the goal post with a sideline conversion attempt to win the game after the full-time siren at the end of 80 minutes following Kyle Feldt's last-second try to level the scores.

The fairytale had looked a very long way away as a frustrated Cowboys side repeatedly failed to drive home attacking chances in the second half as the clock – and Brisbane's four-point lead – began to take their toll.

With the trophy appearing certain to return to Brisbane in master coach Wayne Bennett's first year back in Red Hill, Cowboys five-eighth Michael Morgan – who had had a deeply underwhelming game to that point – finally clicked with one of his right-side raids, setting up Feldt's try with a magic flick pass.

The crowd erupted at the drama as well as the knowledge that one of the greatest players ever to have laced on a boot was about to step up to the mark to claim his place in history.

It was quiet as a whisper when 82,758 fans held their breath as Thurston took an age to line up the shot. When he eventually did it started right in typical style before drifting back, drifting back... and just as Thurston raised aloft a fist in triumph the ball clipped the right hand upright and bounced back into the field of play.

Those 82,758 erupted in either cheers or anguished groans in unison but more drama was to follow as a towering Feldt restart floated down into the lap of Brisbane halfback Ben Hunt... who spilled it cold.

It was a cruel blow for one of the most improved and impressive players in the competition and nothing like what he deserved after an outstanding season and controlled the night well.

But the Cowboys were jubilant and set to take a field goal from the scrum. Spotting the danger Brisbane raced up and shut the play down but it was only a temporary reprieve as the Cowboys went left, then went right, then finally straightened to set again and this time Thurston made no mistake, slotting the one-pointer straight between the posts to send all of North Queensland into raptures.

"I can't believe it. I can't believe what we've just done," a tearful Thurston said immediately after full-time.

"I love these boys. They've worked so hard

"I see it every day, the sacrifices they make, I see it every day. I love the club. I can't believe it."

While nothing could match the high drama at the end of the game, the start was also scintillating and exploded into life shortly after kick-off.

After a hugely tense opening few sets where neither side gave an inch in a physical feeling out period, an error from the Cowboys immediately followed by a penalty looked set to hand the Broncos the first attacking opportunity of the game. However they strangely opted to take two points from 40 metres out in the sixth minute.

It mattered little one set later though; in the second play after the restart a deft and very late Adam Blair offload to Anthony Milford allowed the pivot to skip across field barely 10 metres from his own line, spy Kyle Feldt rushing up and take the space on offer to send it on to Jack Reed.

The centre's draw-and-pass handed bullocking young winger Corey Oates a free long-range run to the line for the opening four-pointer of the match and 2-0 had become 8-0 in the blink of an eye.

The frantic passage of play continued with Matt Gillett's lost ball straight after the resumption. From the scrum, speedy North Queensland hooker Jake Granville dummied from the base of the scrum then accelerated through half a gap, finding centre Justin O'Neill in support to close the deficit back to two in just the 10th minute.

As the half wore on Brisbane struggled to get out of their own end; while Matt Scott didn't even register a carry until the 12 minute his fellow bookend James Tamou produced a powerful opening half-hour spell, bending the line with most carries.

The NSW prop earned his reward when the Broncos failed to clean up a Thurston grubber in the 24th minute. Tamou produced a perfectly timed run at the line and the pass from Granville out of dummy half had to be just as precise to allow the 26-year-old to spin out of Sam Thaiday's attempted tackle to plant the ball next to the posts and earn his side the lead for the first time.

If the Cowboys' four pointers were coming from well-executed set plays the Broncos' were opportunistic and they reclaimed the lead when Thurston came up with an uncharacteristic error inside his own half, losing control in a tackle with some assistance from Andrew McCullough.

Gillett raced away with the loose ball, breaking the line then sending Reed over to help his side back to a 14-12 advantage.

The second half was more dour than the first after Brisbane again started with a penalty goal, Jordan Kahu taking the shot with Corey Parker off the field after Morgan was penalised for holding in the tackle having just saved a try with a great effort on Reed.

The Cowboys struggled for penetration in the middle with their starting props and hooker on the bench for stretches while Michael Morgan, Kane Linnett and Kyle Feldt were each having something of an off night in attack and with their ball-handling.

Despite that Brisbane still had to absorb a huge amount of pressure at their own line as errors from Cowboys kicks handed North Queensland repeat sets.

Four-time Dally M medallist Thurston was busy and scheming in attack, playing both sides of the field and slotting into left- and right-side shifts, but was becoming increasingly frustrated as a combination of incredible Brisbane goal line defence and his own side's lack of polish brought them unstuck.

As the half wore on Brisbane's two penalty goal advantage looked a bigger and bigger gulf to breach for an increasingly frazzled Cowboys outfit.

Although the Broncos at times looked out on their feet they never lost control with Hunt and McCullough repeatedly plowing hard grubbers into touch, forgoing yardage in favour of winding down the clock and earning a breather and using their advantage.

One left-side attacking move saw Linnett drop the ball with the line open; on the right Morgan and O'Neill were denied by try-saving tackles. A superb Gillett try-saver led Coote to be penalised for a double movement, unable to resist the urge to stretch out.

An awkward 77th-minute lifting tackle from Hunt on Linnett left the halfback on report and allowed the Cowboys to move into attacking range for one last charge.

When Thurston was left without a runner to receive the ball and smashed for his trouble on the fifth play Granville was forced to take the kick and when Brisbane cleaned up the match appeared to be over.

But the Cowboys got one last chance at them and Morgan came good, Feldt scored the equaliser and the rest was history.

ALASTAIR Clarkson's Hawthorn team has irrefutably stamped itself as one of the greatest sides in VFL/AFL history, clinching its third consecutive premiership with a commanding 46-point win over West Coast in the hottest Grand Final on record.

After the Eagles kicked the opening goal of Saturday's game at the MCG, the Hawks took a stranglehold on the contest with nine straight goals to set up a 16.11 (107) to 8.13 (61) triumph on a windy day when the temperature rose to 31.3 degrees to surpass the previous Grand Final record of 30.7 in 1987.

The victory made Clarkson's 2013-15 Hawks just the fifth club to win three flags in a row, joining Carlton (1906-08), Collingwood (1927-30), Melbourne (1939-41 and 1955-57) and the Brisbane Lions (2001-03).

Clarkson is also now the Hawks' most successful coach, with Saturday's win his fourth premiership triumph (2008, 2013-15) and taking him past the three flags won by John Kennedy snr (1971, 1976, 1978) and Allan Jeans (1983, 1986, 1989).

Just three weeks after West Coast humbled them in the qualifying final, the Hawks turned the tables, rediscovering their trademark mix of 'unsociable' pressure and clinical ball movement that had deserted them at Domain Stadium three weeks ago.

The Hawks set their win up with a commanding first half when they regularly got over the back of Adam Simpson's vaunted 'web' defence to find open targets inside their forward 50.

They also forced West Coast into uncharacteristic mistakes with their relentless defensive intensity, while they were as accurate in front of goal as the Eagles were wasteful.

Cyril Rioli was the star, providing much of the spark on Hawthorn' s forward line, particularly in the first half. He finished two goals, four goal assists and 12 marks and was an extremely popular winner of the Norm Smith Medal.

Jack Gunston made a seamless return from the ankle injury that had sidelined him since the qualifying final, kicking a game high four goals, while Sam Mitchell controlled the game in the midfield, winning an equal game-high 34 possessions that were delivered with his usual precision. The former Hawks skipper also had six clearances, four tackles and two goal assists.

Hard-running wingman Isaac Smith also hurt the Eagles on the scoreboard with three goals, while two-time Norm Smith medallist Luke Hodge (30 possessions) enjoyed another good Grand Final day, the highlight a banana off one step from the boundary line early in the second quarter.

James Frawley continued his strong form since his disappointing performance against the Eagles three weeks ago, keeping Coleman medallist Josh Kennedy goalless, while Brian Lake (11 marks) regularly short-circuited attacks with intercept marks and stopped Josh Hill from goaling early in the last quarter with a desperate smother.

After trailing by 44 points at the 14-minute mark of the second term, West Coast briefly threatened to get back into the game when they kicked the next three goals.

The first two came through Josh Hill and, after the half-time siren, Elliot Yeo.

Yeo's composed set shot from 40m cut the Hawks' lead to 31 points at the main break, and when Jack Darling kicked the opening goal of the second half West Coast was back within 24 points and you sensed, more importantly, back in the game.

But it quickly went south for the Eagles, best illustrated by Darling's dropped mark and subsequent fumble when a simple set shot was in the offing.

The Hawks whipped the ball out of their defensive 50 and Ryan Schoenmakers kicked truly at the other end, snuffing out any sense they might wilt in the unseasonable spring heat. Hawthorn kicked five of the next six goals to go into three-quarter time with an unassailable 50-point lead.

The final quarter was little more than a victory march for the Hawks, and the Eagles restored some respectability to the scoreline with the final three goals of the game.

The Eagles were attempting to become the first team to win the Grand Final after missing the previous year's finals since Geelong in 2007, and just the fourth team to do so since the competition went national in 1987 – the others being Essendon in 1993 and Adelaide in 1997.

Their endeavour could not be faulted but their ball use was well below their normal standards, especially in front of goal. For example, after holding their own in general play in the first quarter, they went into the break down by 19 points, thanks to their 1.5 return and the Hawks' 5.0.

Andrew Gaff (34 possessions) ran tirelessly in the midfield, Luke Shuey (26 possessions) tried hard but let himself down at times with his disposals and Sam Butler stood up in defence under the Hawks' constant barrages.

Only Jock McHale's legendary Collingwood 'machine' teams now stand above Clarkson's Hawks with their League-record four consecutive premierships from 1927-30.

And just four coaches have won more flags than Clarkson – McHale (eight), Norm Smith (six), Jack Worrall and Frank 'Checker' Hughes (both five).

Seventeen Hawks played in all three of the 2013-15 flags – Luke Hodge, Sam Mitchell, Jarryd Roughead, Cyril Rioli, Jordan Lewis, Grant Birchall, Shaun Burgoyne, Josh Gibson, Brian Lake, Ben Stratton, Isaac Smith, Luke Breust, Paul Puopolo, David Hale, Liam Shiels, Jack Gunston and Bradley Hill.

Hodge, Mitchell, Roughead, Rioli, Lewis and Birchall have played in all four flags in the Clarkson era, while Burgoyne is also now a four-time premiership player, having played in Port's 2004 Grand Final win.

Chiyo, however, has already won a necklace, which means that Yui Yuigahama is in the driver's set in the Nova.

Currently on the Pangya Global Servers, this new Gacha of Purple Conquest Sets for the men is out. It's a Gacha that I will not go after because it is not the swimsuits. The Korean developers are in some massive trouble. They can't get their server settled, and that affect us because we are supposed to be aligned with the Koreans. Aligning with Japan has massive advantages in terms of providing content and events, and the inability of Global's staff to have a say in this matter puts Pangya Global at an unnecessary crossroads.

Still, I carry on. I have passed 10,000 EXP on the road to 17,000-plus EXP to reach Top Master E rank and achieve a penalty power mark of 31. Further, on the Gamerage forums, I am closing in on reaching 1,000 posts after being away due to a suspension that was supposed to last one week but ended up being extended by eight days due to a short staff. Well, that's what should be the case, however, I am wary that they did this deliberately, and that just exacerbates the issue with Pangya Global: a small staff and an inability to monitor account suspension times timely and professionally.

In any case, I am not going to apologize for the act that got my forum account suspended, which was my take on the origins of Elly and Tory arriving on Pangya Island: essentially an escape from North Korea unharmed due to following the comets to the unknown boat to freedom. That's all it was, and I copped a 16-day suspension for it. Fortunately, the fic is still standing on tumblr and Fanfiction.net, so go check that out.

Fanfic writing, meanwhile, will be halted, as well as dynasty simming, until there is a significant lull in my Pangya grinding. There is a Halloween event that should be coming up next week. I want to buy the Plum Witch Set for Hana on my main. I also would like to see the event from last year back for this year, which would allow new players to get a free costume set for Hana R, as well as the poster. It's one that I already have but I would like to get again, if only to get the other color palette.

Currently, I am getting Arin to 250 games played. I have done 160 so far and would need two weeks of 10 games per day to max out her Character Mastery. The issue here is that I am running low on Time Boosters and I will need to buy some Boosters this month so that I can get her to that point, at which playing Arin will be only brought out as needed.

Hana, Hana R, Nuri R, Cecilia R, Lucia, Nell, Spika and Kooh have all reached 250 games and their character mastery has been maxxed out. Arin is the only popular character in my arsenal that has not reached this milestone and because of this, she will be a focus point for the next few weeks. I am a few Tiki Points away from having the 100 TP needed, and I am past Master E. Most likely I will do some more recycling and then all that's needed is to play the games. Once Arin reaches 250, I may consider going back to playing Hana R, who is my default main character, or going for pushing Hana (a.k.a. Madoka) to 2500 games. Achievement Points acquired (pardon the bad pun) is over 9,000.

Oh yeah, and it's my mom's birthday today.
