"There is nothing new when it comes to competitions like this," Nagato told the press after her victory. "Before every match, I analyze the strengths and weaknesses of my opponent, and then I gauge how my own strengths and weaknesses compare with theirs. With Kanade and Mikoto already winning necklaces, I deduced that the odds, as they say, were in my favor, and I capitalized on the opportunity.
"I thank Miss Suzumiya, Miss Asahina, Mr. Kyon, Mr. Koizumi and everyone who I know for their support and dedication, but I have as long a way to go as anyone else in an event like this."
