It is official, the fifth winner of the 2012 International Saimoe League Heavenly Tiara is Kanade Tachibana, a.k.a. Tenshi, who demolished Eucliwood Hellscythe 9,064-4,485. The news was met with rapturous applause and cheers at a victory rally in Tokyo this afternoon.
"It is an honor to be the fifth leader of the Free Moe World," said Tachibana, surrounded by the new First Gentleman Yuzuru Otonashi, Yuri Nakamura, Yui and Masami Iwasawa. "Today marks a new chapter in the history of Saimoe.
"Our team worked hard to get the message across, that this is our time to bring a melody that will change the world for the better. And now, the time had come. I want to thank Yuzuru for his love and companionship, Yuri, Yui and Masami for their solidarity and friendship, and to you, the voters, for making this possible.
"I will do my best to lead the world and be a shining example for all women. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart."
"We ran a great race, but today, it wasn't enough," said Hellscythe through interpreter Ayumu Aikawa at a press conference in Tokyo. "I am offically conceding the race to Kanade. She deserves to be the holder of the Tiara.
"Kanade is a shining example for all women through the world. May her time as the Champion be a fruitful one."
It was not even close, with every region voting for Tachibana. However, the other classification races showed a slightly different story. Ruri Gokou finished third place after a hard-fought 6,871-6,598 victory over Taiga Aisaka. Huge victories in the USA, Russia, Europe, Japan, Korea, China and Hong Kong powered Gokou to the win.
Mio Akiyama ends her ISML campaign on a winning note, finishing fifth after a 6,820-6,492 win over the outgoing ISML champ Mikoto Misaka. Akiyama carried the USA, Latin America, Korea, Japan, the Middle East and South Asia, Eastern Europe, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Oceania.
Seventh place will go to Azusa Nakano, who romped past Yuki Nagato 6,820-6,412. Big wins in Russia, Japan, Korea, China, Vietnam, the Americas, Easter Europe and Africa helped Nakano end her campaign on a high. Ninth place will go to Yui, who added to Shana's futility in the closest victory of the night, a 6,693-6,635 nailbiter. All Shana was able to carry were Latin America, Africa, China, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia.
Finally, 11th place will go to Yuri Nakamura, who gunned down Saber 6,829-6,492. This was a disappointing outing for Saber, who could only carry Korea, Russia, Thailand, China and Hong Kong. Yuri was particularly strong in Africa, Canada, Vietnam and Indonesia.
A couple of diadems were also up for grabs on Tiara Match Day 11. Ririchiyo Shirakiin is your Winter Diadem winner after prevailing over Tsukihi Araragi, 6,204-5,878. Keep an eye out next season for Shirakiin, who secured big victories in the Middle East and South Asia, Africa, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Indonesia. Araragi's biggest victory came in Russia. Your Spring Diadem winner is Kuroyukihime, who flew past Eru Chitanda 6,753-5,914. The butterfly won every region except Russia, Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Korea and Africa.
A couple other exhibitions took place. Manabi Straight's Mika Inamori cruised past Solty Revant 4,515-3,154, winning every region excepy Russia and Africa. And rounding out action in the 2012 International Saimoe League, Rakka tore apart Aoba Tsukishima 4,997-2,458, winning every region except for Africa and Korea.
