Pangya Family Affair

So my friend from the Philippines wanted to sell her account last week. I was very close to doing so, but my parents stopped me hours from getting it done. I wasn't too happy about it, but it forced me to create a secondary Pangya account so that I could be able to get rewards from playing VS mode while at the same time working towards finally getting my wings. My friend had to sell her account to someone else as I didn't have any cash, since I had to help my parents with the groceries.

Too bad for her, but I have to take care of my parents and myself. That's why I am a family first type of person, especially with my jobs not paying me quite well. So, one week after I created my new account, the account has skyrocketed to Senior E rank and the quit rate is showing. Of course, there has to be 20 more games played before it can be eligible to gain wings on its profile. And Papel is fully trained there.

On the other hand, I was able to do an number of things on my main profile. I got Pippin fully trained, Quma is now at Level 2 and could be fully trained by the end of next week, I jumped up to National D rank after over one month at National E rank, and my Angel Wings are now permanent until I end up either quitting a match (which won't happen) or disconnect (which could happen if the servers fuck up). Finally, the only courses that have yet to be played in full are Silvia Cannon, Wiz Wiz, Ice Inferno and Wind Hill. I cannot play those courses yet as I need to clear my Grand Prix tickets and restock on my Pink Wind Comets. Oh yes, and my Memorial Level is now at 15.

Personally, I am glad that MAYN Interactive have chosen to leave my accounts alone. I am pretty good with rares, even though I play most of my matches at Dolfini 1. My backup account is used as a sparring partner, like what you see at boxing gyms around the world.

The bottom line is even though I play on VS mode more often with my two accounts, primarily to test the VS mode and learn more about each course in the game, I am not using any third-party software to improve my game, so they really can't do anything about it. In fact, I'll be shocked if they actually do take action. I don't engage in the trading or anything like that, I just go there to play, and that's that. And since I already have my wings and they're now permanent unless I get a shitstorm of disconnects, it's all smooth sailing for now.

Turn back the clock, wait! Turn down for what!?

So I'm now a few days away from Anime Expo, and a few days away from completing one year of Pangya, the golf game that people like for the casual feel but hate for the hacking and unfair gameplay by others. It was one year ago, on Canada Day 2013, in which I finally decided to play Pangya and enter the  legion of gamers that play the course. Back then, I only had one character, Kooh, and I was fishing for cubes on Hole Repeat Mode at Pink Wind, Hole 6.

I really started to play the game when the 2013 swimsuits came out. Once that happened, I began to play more and more as Hana. I finally settled on Hana as my main character, and then Lucia became my secondary character after I purchased the Madoka and Homura sets. I eventually unlocked every character and after I made friends with my golfing buddy MS_Aries, I ended up receiving millions of pang to unlock clothes and accesories for a lot of my characters. I even received clothes that I never received before because I still consider myself very new to the game, even after one year of playing.

It was when Pangya Grand Prix debuted that I finally was able to pile on the achievements. Up until then, I was fixated on playing in VS mode sparingly. Now, with Grand Prix mode I was able to jump from a Memorial Level 4 to a Memorial Level 12 in two months. Just hours ago, I got promoted to the National Pro ranks and will be stuck on National Pro E for a while now. I ranked up clubs, applied cards to rares, made lots of albatrosses and tomahawk shots with backspins and even got a beam impact achievement.

I've got a long way to go before I can consider myself a real veteran of the game. But I have an intention of reaching the Master ranks by the end of next year, if I still have the desire to play Pangya. I'm not going to settle for just National Pro E. I've got loftier aspirations. Heck, I got a Golden Papel to chase.

A Change Is Gonna Come

There was talk recently in Thailand that Pangya was going to have a massive, new update regarding the characters. I've only played this game for nearly 10 months, I've won a glut of trophies in a few days, and my main character is Hana, although I do play as Lucia and Nuri on occasions. More often, I play as Lucia because I have her feline, which allows for a better Pangya success rate. Once upon a time, my main character was Kooh. It took one swimsuit set and a change of heart to make Hana my main.

But back to the point. All of the characters are supposedly going to grow up by two years. Nuri and Hana are a couple, according to the Bedlam on Baltic Avenue, and to now see Nuri look like Max Changmin from DBSK is a breath of fresh air. I think the new Hana that will come out looks too much like Ako Atarashi, but that's just me. No more ponytails for Hana, it seems. I'll miss that, and her trademark frame. Then again, Sweet 16 had its charms.

As for Azer, he's now a bit older, one of those guys fit for the PGA Senior Tour. He's also a bit leaner and trim. Ah, the power of the Atkins Diet. Now it's going to be his wife Cecelia that dons the ponytail. Strange how the times change. Tough work aboard the Cannon. Law enforcement, military, national security, etc.

Max hasn't changed in terms of his charms and demeanor. But now he is looking more like David Beckham in his prime, which is scary. At least now, he is fluent in two sports: tennis and golf. As for Kooh, now she finally has a chest, even though it's still flat. Kooh, arguably, is one of the most popular characters in the PangYa universe because of her loli charms and the badass mentality. So for her to finally grow up is going to be something.

As for Arin, she's now beyond college age and is now a full-time working class mom. Well, logic would suggest that she and Max are married and have toddlers that are watching the matches on the island via TV. Or maybe checking out some anime show that is not meant for them to watch. Kaz, meanwhile, is more badass than ever. Now of college student age and one who is aware of who he is, Kaz is going to be a hit with those who want to conquer Deep Inferno. Or any other course. He's not my main, though; I just started buying clothes and accessories for him recently.

As for Kaz's wife Lucia (yes, Kaz and Lucia ARE a pair), she's now in the prime of her life. By this point, if she was mainland and didn't hit the links, she would be selling platinum albums, winning awards, starring in movies, learning different languages. Oh yes, and she would also be a mom as well. Ah, the mystique of adulthood. As for Nell, she doesn't age too much but she does get a little bit taller. Yes, she IS a girl. Any of you who argue she is a boy must drop the strong stuff immediately; it's affected your thought process to no end.

Finally, there's Spica. She's also entering life as a young adult. If she was in college, all the hot men would go after her, and she would find the right keys to a man's heart. Or, maybe it's the other way around. Spica was meant to be loved in all the right places. A shame she isn't paired up with anyone. I also hear that a new character may be coming to the Pangya universe. Suddenly, Spica may not be so lonely after all. Hang in there, Spica! The man of your dreams is coming; hold on tight!

Awooga!

The Senate in my Head is partying to a little Calvin Harris classic right now. Up until now, I had never won a single tournament or match on Pangya. Today, I had won every tournament at the Novice level and in the process, I proved to myself that this game is something I can win in.

Now, you people may argue that this is not that big of a deal because, after all, this is the Novice level. However, I had never won at anything in this game. It's been over nine months since I started playing Pangya, and I was winless. So now, to finally win at a tournament...it's a huge weight off my shoulders. Think the latest Mars Rover landing and everyone celebrating "Touchdown confirmed." That's how much I value results like these.

I could have done better on Blue Lagoon, though. I still can't judge inclines, and I even got an O.B. on Hole 8, the toughest of all the holes on the course, at least according to me. But in the process, I ended up unlocking a number of achievements, which is always good. I still don't know if I am going to take a stab at these Class 1 tournaments; my caddies don't benefit from this Grand Prix mode. Maybe I will wait for the next Papel Box to arrive.

Takin' Care Of Business

You get up every morning
From your 'larm clock's warning
Take the 8:15 into the city
There's a whistle up above
And people pushin', people shovin'
And the girls who try to look pretty
And if your train's on time
You can get to work by nine
And start your slaving job to get your pay
If you ever get annoyed
Look at me I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day
And I'll be

Taking care of business (every day)
Taking care of business (every way)
I've been taking care of business (it's all mine)
Taking care of business and working overtime
Work out

If it were easy as fishin'
You could be a musician
If you could make sounds loud or mellow
Get a second-hand guitar
Chances are you'll go far
If you get in with the right bunch of fellows
People see you having fun
Just a-lying in the sun
Tell them that you like it this way
It's the work that we avoid
And we're all self-employed
We love to work at nothing all day
And we be

Taking care of business (every day)
Taking care of business (every way)
We be been taking care of business (it's all mine)
Taking care of business and working overtime

Mercy
Whooooo
All right

Take good care of my business
When I'm away, every day
Whoooo
