Match Day 1 of the 2014 International Saimoe League Topaz Period began, and there was no Upset of the Round this round, with the expected winners prevailing, a rarity for a tournament of this prestige. Here is the roundup of the action from Topaz 1.

NOVA DIVISION

In the Nova Division, Rin Natsume won the closest match of the night: a 2194-2179 thriller over Ririchiyo Shirakiin. Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi romped past Origami Tobiichi 3065-1731, Kotori Itsuka drubbed Mikan Yuuki 3158-1698, Laura Bodewig won a 2398-2358 nailbiter over Sanae Dekomori, Tohka Yatogami routed Touka Takanashi 3144-1750 and Shinka Nibutani defeated Yui 2844-2167.

Yukina Himeragi slashed past Kurousagi 2666-2345, Eru Chitanda thrashed Suguha Kirigaya 3024-1908, Misaki Shokuhou defeated Charlotte Belew 2375-2177, Asuna Yuuki outdueled Mirai Kuriyama 3305-1697, Rikka Takanashi prevailed over Kurousagi 2666-2345 and Kuroyukihime flew past Yaya 2921-1931.

Wrapping up Nova action, Nyarlathotep defeated Shiori Shiomiya 2569-1877, Azusa Azuki routed Chocolat 2826-1718, Kurumi Tokisaki shot down Yukino Yukinoshita 3256-1741, Nanami Aoyama clotheslined Haqua du Lot Herminium 2977-1751, Momo Velia Deviluke rolled past Karuta Roromiya 2631-1751 and Yoshino cruised past Noumi Kudryavka 3328-1506.

STELLA DIVISION

In the Stella Division, Shana torched Ruri Gokou 2640-2495, Mio Akiyama boomed past Last Order 2887-2021, Mashiro Shiina throttled Yuri Nakamura 3275-1729, Konjiki no Yami defeated Charlotte Dunois 2400-1996, Yuki Nagato whipped past Victorique de Blois 2454-2107 and Mikoto Misaka electrocuted Yui-nyan 3193-1955.

Kanade Tachibana sliced and diced Taiga Aisaka 2878-2279, Kurisu Makise took down Sora Kasugano 2576-2153, Erio Touwa defeated Nadeko Sengoku 2332-1950, Kirino Kousaka prevailed over Hinagiku Katsura 2467-2246, Shouko Kirishima took care of Masami Iwasawa 2411-2218 and Illyasviel von Einzbern routed Meiko Honma 2868-1908.

Wrapping up Stella play, Ayase Aragaki belted Yozora Mikazuki 3147-1578, Azusa Nakano romped past Saber 2587-2412, Eucliwood Hellscythe silenced Inori Yuzuriha 2566-2289, Haruhi Suzumiya hammered Hitagi Senjougahara 2691-2026, Sena Kashiwazaki trampled past Yui Hirasawa 2459-2297 and Kobato Hasegawa ran away from Shinobu Oshino 2581-2041.
