Have yourself a little piece of Mitsu

Have yourself a little piece of Mitsu,
Drum and bass delight,
Two young maidens, such a nosebleed-worthy sight.

Have yourself a little piece of Mitsu,
Yuri holiday,
From now on, eternal love is here to stay.

Here they are, happy, lucky girls,
Cagayake girls of yore.
BFFs who were dear to us
Gather here with us once more.

Through the years, they've always been together
And the fates allow.
On this day, their friendship led them to a vow.
So have yourself a little piece of Mitsu now.

Poor Miss Sawako (On A Summer Mornng)

Poor Miss Sawako looked out,
On a summer morning,
Where the track team ran about
And Ricchan was snoring,
Raging was the sun that day,
And the heat was cruel,
When Tsumugi came in sight,
Bringing candy-coated fuel.

"Ricchan, wake up from your sleep,
If thou knows't it telling,
What sweet package, rich and deep,
Is Mugi-chan bringing?"
"I believe it's cake and tea
For the other members."
"I think we should go upstairs
Or I'll lose my te-emper."

"You seem hungry as a horse.
Did you eat some breakfast?"
"Yes I am, with no remorse.
Couldn't eat, it was past."
Upstairs to the room they went,
Where the place was rocking.
Heaven's notes from heaven sent,
And t'was time for sna-a-cking.

Teacher knocking on the door
Came in uninvited,
Asking, "Cake, is there some more?"
Crumbs she only sighted.
Falling to her knees in tears,
"Ricchan, you betrayed me."
Yui asked, "Is there something wrong?"
"I am friggin' hu-un-gry!"

Mugi brought some extra snacks
To her jubilation.
"Thank the Lord for Pocky packs!
What a sweet sensation!"
Therefore, K-ON! fans, be sure,
In the cause of learning,
Ye who choose to love some more,
Shall find love returning.

O Sakuragaoka High

O Sakuragaoka High,
How still they see you lay,
Upstairs, high in the music room
It's practice time today.
Out in the dark halls shineth
The melody and rhyme
The hopes and cheers of all these years
For Hokago Tea Time.

O fans and geeks together
Proclaim the K-ON's birth!
And praises sing to Yui, our Queen,
And peace to chicks on earth.
For if it weren't for Yui,
This club would not be found,
And no one near would ever hear
That sweet Light Music sound!

O Keion-Bu of Sakura
Descend to us, we pray!
Bring out the sweets and tea and treats
For all of us today.
We hear KyoAni's angels
Miss Sawako, she tells
Of HTT for you and me,
Our Cagayake Girls!

O Keion-Bu

O Keion-Bu,
The fans are loudly roaring
It is the night
Of Hirasawa's birth.
All around the world
In Fuwa Fuwa alarming,
Yui appears,
And the cheers shook the Earth.

A miracle,
The otaku rejoices
For yonder breaks
A young and rising sun.

Fall on your knees
And hear the angel playing!
Hokago Tea Time,
Our goal is Budokan.
One night, Tea Time,
Oh Hokago Tea Time!

Led by the cake of life serenely wafting
With pie and tarts by our Yui we stand
So led by treats and madeleines and ice cream,
Here come the fearless, the restless, the band.
The prodigy sleeps with beloved Giita.
She is the one that we can all depend.

How she can play
Sweet sounds to perfect strangers.
Behold our Queen.
Our hope, our life, our friend.
Behold our Queen.
Our hope, our life, our friend.

Truly she taught us to never say lazy
Her stapler's love and her anthems are peace.
Barriers she break, the sound in all her sisters.
In Yui's name, all depression shall cease.
With pure, pure hearts, we lend our ears to Listen!!
We sing her songs, paying homage to her fame.

Yui is the one!
O praise her name forever.
Her rocking and rolling evermore proclaim.
Her rocking and rolling evermore proclaim.

Fall on your knees
And hear the angel playing!
Hokago Tea Time,
Our goal is Budokan.
One night, Tea Time,
Oh Hokago Tea Time!

England got run over by the K-ON!

As we head into the holiday season, the Bedlam on Baltic Avenue provides a series of K-ON! Christmas songs that were made popular back when I used to have an account on deviantART. You art thief-hunting mongs on dA pushed me out, and I have nothing but contempt for you, and I'm taking it to the grave. Here we go.

---

England got run over by the K-ON!
Several days ahead of Christmas Eve.
Though you say there's no such thing as moe,
Well, as for us otaku, we believe.

Months ago, the show was finished,
And we saw them off in style.
Five young girls with great potential
To bring rock and roll and go the extra mile.

Weeks would pass and then we found out
They had gone off for a trip.
Took a nonstop flight to Britain,
Where the people, food and drink are really hip.

England got run over by the K-ON!
Several days ahead of Christmas Eve.
Though you say there's no such thing as moe,
Well, as for us otaku, we believe.

It turned out to be a godsend,
And the fans were up in cheers.
Some were singing, some were chanting,
And still others took the chance to drink some beers.

Made a movie of their travels,
Did the Kyoto Ani crew
To the raptures of the masses.
Hokago Tea Time, you know that we love you.

England got run over by the K-ON!
Several days ahead of Christmas Eve.
Though you say there's no such thing as moe,
Well, as for us otaku, we believe.

Yui and Giita are awesome.
Mio rocks it with her bass.
Ritsu and Mugi are special,
And you can't forget about Azusa's face.

Will we see another season?
Maybe yes or maybe no.
But who cares, it doesn't matter;
HTT is back to play another show!

England got run over by the K-ON!
Several days ahead of Christmas Eve.
Though you say there's no such thing as moe,
Well, as for us otaku, we believe.

Dayle Garlett: the new bad boy of the AFL?

HAWTHORN says it will provide the off-field support to give controversial recruit Dayle Garlett the chance to shine, but won't allow him to take any shortcuts.
The reigning premier took the biggest punt of the AFL national draft when it chose the wayward but sublimely-skilled Swan Districts player with pick 38.
Hawks' recruiting manager Graham Wright now hopes the selection will prove to be a bargain, given Garlett's undoubted talent that has often been overshadowed by erratic off-field behaviour.
"He has certainly been able to put a lot of controls around his life and from our perspective we have noticed that, and seen it," Wright said.
"We have had a lot of contact with him the last 12 months or so, even in the last two-and-a-half years back when he was eligible to be one of the 17-year-olds with GWS.
"We have followed him all the way through and we are very comfortable with the pick.
"For us, at 38, we felt it was the right pick at the right time and we were keen to give him an opportunity. Now it is what he does with that opportunity."

Wright said the 20-year-old would join Hawthorn with "a clean slate", following his AFL reprieve after he was overlooked last season.
"I think Dayle should come in with a clean slate, like every player, and should be given every opportunity," Wright said.
"We will afford him that and I know our players will as well. We have got great structures around the club."
Garlett missed a meeting with Port Adelaide in the lead-up to this year's draft, but Wright denied he had missed one with Hawthorn.
He admitted there was a risk associated with the selection, but said the Hawks had been buoyed by Garlett's more settled off-field situation.
Garlett watched the draft unfold with his girlfriend from his manager Tim Galic's office in Perth - with the Hawks contacting him soon after.
"Everyone is in agreeance that he is a super talented player, but he has got to get in and work really hard," Wright said.
"He will be expected to do everything that every player does. There will be no shortcuts for him."

Garlett kicked 45 goals from 19 games with Swan Districts this season and finished in the top 10 of the Sandover Medal.
The Hawks were also delighted - and a little surprised - to be able to secure midfielder Billy Hartung with their first selection at pick 24 after he had been touted to go earlier.
It had considered James Sicily with pick 38 used on Garlett, but was pleased he was still available at pick 56.
"We were rapt with Billy Hartung with pick 24. (He) has such a big engine, he is quick and he uses the ball well," Wright said.
"We think he will complement our group well. We rated James (Sicily) highly. He is an exciting football talent, is very strong overhead and plays that high half forward role."

Wright said the Hawks were pleased to secure some midfield talent who will hopefully take over when the club's dominant, but now ageing, midfield undergoes more change over the coming years.

Morning Rescue

Madoka, love the way you move.
Girl, you make me sweat and I'm in the groove.

Long white gown and a pair of wings
Mean the world to me. You mean everything.

All these folks gonna go my way.
Everybody knows we got hell to pay.

Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh, oh, oh...
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh, oh, oh...

On the run, can't stand still,
Got a town to save, got no time to kill.

Ribbon on, flaming red,
Your pink panties are on my head.

Homu, homu, homu, homu, homu, homu, oh....

Touch you baby, hold you baby, kiss you baby,
What you doin' to me now?
Tease you baby, squeeze you baby, please you baby,
Gotta get to you somehow.

Three a.m. and I'm in tears,
You're so far, even though you're near.

Clothes are torn, can't move on,
Gonna need you now before I'm dead and gone.

Spilled the beans, the story's told.
A pink-haired goddess, she saved my soul.

Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh, oh, oh...
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh, oh, oh...

Fall to my knees, and I pray,
That my Madoka is gonna come my way.

She's my woman, and she'll take my hand.
For her I would die to protect this land.

Homu, homu, homu, homu, homu, homu, oh....

Laval Rouge et Or: 2013 Vanier Cup Champions

The Laval Rouge et Or football machine keeps rumbling along like an unstoppable tank.
Pascal Lochard led a running game that piled up 449 net rushing yards as the Rouge et Or wore down the young Calgary Dinos for a 25-14 victory in the Vanier Cup game on Saturday afternoon.
It was Laval's second Canadian Interuniversity Sport championship in a row, their third in four years and their record eighth overall in only 17 years since its well-financed football program started.
"It's incredible to go back to back and win it here in front of our fans," said Laval quarterback Alex Skinner, who got nowhere trying to throw the ball against a tough Calgary defensive secondary and just ran it on nearly every play in the second half.
Among Laval's trio of running backs, the 2012 Vanier Cup MVP Maxime Boutin got 190 yards, Lochard had 198 and Guillaume Bourassa had 30, while graduating receiver Guillaume Rioux had a 31-yard run.
The team set Vanier Cup records for rushing yards — breaking their own mark of 373 set last year — and rushing first downs with 26.
Lochard had Laval's only touchdown in the fourth quarter. Boris Bede, despite struggling with his kicking all afternoon, managed to tie a Vanier Cup record with five field goals.

Big crowd

The win on a chilly, windy day in front of a raucous, overflow crowd of 18,543 at 12,000-seat Telus Stadium kept Laval undefeated at 12-0 this season. Calgary fell to 11-1.
Jake Harty and Chris Dopko scored touchdowns for the Dinos, who were looking to avenge a 29-2 loss at Laval in the 2010 Vanier Cup game.
Calgary has not won a Vanier Cup since 1995 and was not expected to reach the title game this year after losing 19 starters, including 11 on defence, from last year's squad.
But they found a way to stay in the game and took over momentum in the third quarter when quarterback Andrew Buckley got the passing game going for a pair of TDs and a brief 14-12 lead. But Laval's running game took over the rest of the way, eating up the clock with long drives.
"For a while, things were going good, but there was no way we were able to compete on the line of scrimmage," said Dinos coach Blake Nill. "To be honest, we made two big plays.
"We had a screen play to (Mercer) Timmis and a long pass to (Rashaun) Simonise, and we were able to put the ball in the end zone twice. But at the end, we just couldn't stop the run. We tried putting bigger people in and to make adjustments, but we just flat out couldn't stop them."
Buckley went 19-for-29 for 247 yards and also rushed for 82 yards, but there was little else to the Calgary attack besides Harty's nine catches for 112 yards. Laval's top-ranked rush defence held Timmis to 33 yards on 12 carries.
The Rouge et Or dominated territorially, but ran into a bend-but-don't-break Calgary defence that kept the visitors in the game until the final quarter. Skinner was 8-for-21 for only 93 yards.
The Dinos got through the first half down only 6-0 thanks partly to some bad Laval penalties and place kicking. A 42-yard TD run by Maxime Boutin and an 80-yard punt return by Guillaume Rioux were called back for holding.
"We let them in the game," said Laval coach Glen Constantin, who got a seventh Vanier Cup title to go with one loss — an overtime setback to McMaster in 2011 in Vancouver. "We had our opportunities in the first quarter.
"There were 14 points called back and we knew that if those guys kept close we'd be in difficulty. But our kids showed a lot of grit. They just took over. They're proud guys."
The Rouge et Or moved to the Calgary 23 on the opening drive, but Bede missed right on a 30-yard field goal attempt and settled for a single. A 37-yard attempt with the wind to open the second quarter hit an upright and fell for no points.
Bede finally made one from 40 yards midway through the second quarter, but Constantin took the points off the board due to a roughing the kicker call. Three plays later, Bede was good again from 19 yards.
The Dinos conceded a safety with 2:18 left in the half.
Lochard, the game MVP, carried on seven consecutive plays to the Calgary three to open the second half and Bede was good from 10 yards.
The Dinos bounced back, as Buckley hit Simonise with a 42-yard pass to help set up Harty's six-yard TD run around the right side at 7:59 to cut Laval's lead to two points.
Laval blocked a punt to set up a 16-yard Bede boot, but the Dinos marched back on a 39-yard screen pass to Timmis to set up Buckley's six-yard TD toss to Dopko. Laval answered with Bede's fourth field goal of the day.
Skinner kept the ball on the ground all the way as Laval marched 89 yards on seven plays for Lochard's eight-yard TD run at 9:12.
Constantin did not look pleased as his players doused him in Gatorade with time still on the clock, but another drive that ended with Bede's fifth field goal of the game from 12 yards clinched it in the final minute.
Despite the loss, Nill saw the Vanier Cup as prime experience for a young team.
"That's the nature of the beast — we're not mature enough yet to compete here when it counts," he sad. "This will be a huge experience for them.
"But like I told the kids: that's the fifth time I've ended up No. 2 and I can't deal with that. If you want to be No. 1, you've got to beat these guys (Laval). We were doing it on their home turf and I thought our guys did very well."

Saskatchewan Roughriders: 2013 Grey Cup Champions

REGINA - There is jubilation in the Rider Nation.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders won the fourth Grey Cup championship in franchise history on Sunday, defeating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 45-23 before a sellout crowd of 44,710 at Mosaic Stadium.
The victory was the third straight by a home team in the Grey Cup, following the B.C. Lions (2011) and Toronto Argonauts (2012).
Saskatchewan also made history by winning for the first time at home, in the third Grey Cup game played in Regina. In the previous two Regina-based Grey Cups, the winning teams were the Baltimore Stallions (1995) and Edmonton Eskimos (2003).
Tailback Kory Sheets powered the Roughriders to victory, rushing for 197 yards on 20 carries to earn Grey Cup MVP honours. The game’s outstanding Canadian was Roughriders slotback Chris Getzlaf. Both awards choices were unanimous.
The Roughriders led 31-6 at halftime, setting a Grey Cup record for the most points over the first 30 minutes.
Saskatchewan’s 25-point lead was the second-largest by a team at halftime in Grey Cup history. Hamilton set the record in 1986, when it led the Eskimos 29-0 at halftime.
The Roughriders scored four first-half touchdowns, courtesy of 15- and 42-yard scoring strikes from Darian Durant to Geroy Simon, along with short runs by Sheets and Jock Sanders. The Riders also got a 20-yard field goal by Chris Milo.
The Tiger-Cats’ Luca Congi had field goals of 45 and 24 yards in the first half.
Hamilton quarterback Henry Burris scored the only touchdown of the third quarter, running 18 yards for a major. The Tiger-Cats trailed 31-13 at three-quarter time. Congi’s 33-yard field goal on the first play of the first quarter made it 31-16.
The Riders’ offence eventually got rolling again, when Sheets punctuated an 82-yard drive with his second major of the game. Milo’s convert put the Riders ahead 38-16 with 5:02 remaining.
The Roughriders promptly recovered a fumble, whereupon Durant threw his third touchdown pass of the day – a 26-yarder to Weston Dressler.
Hamilton responded with a two-yard touchdown run by C.J. Gable, who scored with 1:56 remaining and the outcome no longer in doubt.
The Roughriders had previously won Grey Cups in 1966, 1989 and 2007. Kent Austin, the Tiger-Cats’ current head coach, was the winning starting quarterback in 1989 and the victorious head coach in 2007.

2channel Anime Saimoe 2013: Will the Madoka Hype die down?

2channel Anime Saimoe 2013: Will the Madoka Hype die down?
No expectations set for Homura Akemi to become a major contender next year

By Jo-Ryan Salazar
November 24, 2013

Saimoe Prime Minister-elect Madoka Kaname returned home to her family on Sunday afternoon to celebrate her win over Sayaka Miki in the General Election for the coveted office on Saturday. The position is a ceremonial one, which involves participating in a series of functions involving other moekkos and top government officials and is flexible to allow other events to take place, such as classes and other occasions. Kaname defeated Miki 277-191 in a match that saw one of the lowest turnouts ever seen in an election.

The only member of the Puella Magi Holy Quintet failing to qualify for the finals in Homura Akemi, who has a following in her own right but will be severely weakened due to the success of Kaname, Miki, Mami Tomoe and Kyouko Sakura. In fact, Akemi does not see herself as a major player to succeed Kaname.

"I'm already a Stella candidate in the International Saimoe League and I am the strongest of all the Puella Magi Party there," Akemi said. "I feel I have a better chance at performing well next year in the ISML than the 2channel Anime Saimoe Tournament, so this tournament that just finished is not my highest priority.

"Don't get me wrong; in fact, I love this tournament and I want to do well next year. However, some voters may not have been impressed with how I handled the situation with Madoka weeks ago, and it was chronicled by many people here.

"I have bigger issues to worry about, and I am pretty well aware of them. The good thing is that my intervention is not necessary at this point. This way, I can focus on qualifying for ISML next year and see if I can improve on my results.

"If you were to ask me the future of this tournament, it needs to continue, but it must be restructured to allow for better security of voting and the rules must be set in stone before the process begins. Anything changed in the middle of the tournament will compromise its credibility beyond repair.

"I think the event organizers need to absorb the blow and start preparing the process for next year's Anime Saimoe Tournament. The Saimoe movement cannot end with this year's race. Also, they must open voting to foreigners once again. This way, the races can become more competitive and exciting.

"It's something that is possible and reasonable. But the event organizers must put it to work. They must put the wheels in motion."

As for the International Saimoe League, a special exhibition tournament is taking place from Nov. 17 through Dec. 12. Keep it here with the Bedlam on Baltic Avenue for continuing coverage of the International Saimoe League and the 2channel Anime Saimoe Tournament.

A rebuttal to an anonymous critic on FF.net...

So this jerk named RogueReviewer came over and wrote this on my reviews page for my most recent Madoka one-shot. I deleted it, but here it is for archives.
Oh boy! The first Akuma Homura x Madoka smut on this site!
...And it's utterly terrible!
Wow, this was bad. The only thing that was passable was the grammar. Everything was off. The characterisation? Everyone was OOC. The conversations were wooden and almost like it was just one person talking to themself. All the smattered, weeaboo Japanese made me cringe. "Mou..."? Just make them say "Jeez..." or something! It's not hard!
It's like you didn't understand Rebellion at all. Oh, suddenly, Madoka has her powers back and Homura's okay with that and they're getting along and banging? I was excited for this sort of smut because of the emotional development a writer could explore. There was nothing here. It was a thinly-veiled excuse to get them back in bed and write boring smut. And then you have them use their powers for dumb, implausible, selfish reasons. Why the hell would they expose themselves as the Goddesses of the world? Seems counter-productive to me. And Madoka's altruism wouldn't let her do that.
You also took all the drama out of Saimoe. "Oh hey, Madoka wins!" What, no mention of Homura's early dive? Madoka's revenge against Ayase once she got out of the loser's tournament? How strong the showing of Madoka Magica girls were? The fact that Sayaka, unpopular Sayaka, beat previous winner Mami? No mention of the only non-meguca to get to the semi-finals, the Main Character of Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita? This story actually had some potential, and it was wasted on ruining the story of Rebellion and sending the other characters to a concert for no real reason.
I've read some of your other stories and while they're a little better, they all suffer from the same problems. There's one problem in particular... you insert all these references only you care about and don't mesh with the story. When Kyouko, Sayaka, Mami, and Nagisa delve into which teams they like? That made no sense. It was as if you were saying "Oh, here's some facts I know."
For God's sake STOP PUTTING LYRICS IN YOUR STORIES. They're padding, and technically it's not allowed. Nobody reads the lyrics and nobody cares about your favourite bands and singers. It makes your fic look bigger than it is and it's cheating.
This fic is a messy, boring, OOC clusterfuck. You're writing down things that you like without concern for making it coherent and in-character. Madoka Magica is a very character-based story. This was a series of confusing events with the Madoka Magica characters idly shoved in.

Let's start from the beginning. First off, welcome to the world of JR Salazar's fics, where the author has his own style of writing this and has no intentions of changing the formula unless you pay him thousands of dollars. Now I hate the term weeaboo because calling someone a weeaboo makes you one as well. That's called guilt by association and is lame. Second, I believe you don't have to know something to write about thing. I work as a sports journalist for the FanSided Network, and I try to know what I know. You see this with all of the sportswriters out there: they know little about what they write to begin with but still churn it out anyway because they need reads and clicks and page impressions. Homura and Madoka are my yuri pair. If you don't like the way these two love other, too bad. It was the main attraction in Ding Dong and the selling point, so this is more of the same.
This Saimoe wasn't about the other characters. This was about Madoka. The other characters really didn't matter. If Watashi made the final, she would be there. If Mami made the final, she would be there. If any of the other clowns on the other side of the bracket made it, they'd be mentioned. Ruri only got a passing mention because of ISML. None of the other Top 16 characters except for Sayaka and Kyouko Sakura needed to be mentioned in this fic because it's not about them. This is about Madoka.
Okay, you read some of my other fanfiction, good for you. Well, there are some missing parts that would have been explored if they were mentioned in canon. So I have to add them because they are not mentioned in canon and I do add them because it adds depth. To me, Madoka Magica's character descriptions were incomplete and some other info was missing. So I add them. Well Madoka Magica is fictional anyway, so you whining about references I care about is irrelevant and laughable.
If this was an issue regarding lyrics, my account on FF.net would have been shut down months ago. No action has been done, no action will be done. I have updates to Gunners High and Poke-ON! forthcoming in December and there will be lyrics. As long as my account is active, I have the final word, regardless of your complaints, because these are my fics, after all. Nobody reads and nobody cares? You just did by reviewing my fic here! What bloody hypocrisy!
Again, this is how I do my work. If it's solid, fine. If it's messy, boring, OOC clusterfucks as you say, par for the course. What I'm telling you is that I am not going to change the way I write my work here. Furthermore, I did hint to another review that this could be a satire of what happened in Rebellion. Well, I've changed my mind. It is a satire and a protest to Homura's actions in Rebellion. So I'm making her make it up to Madoka so that she is able to settle things. Of course, this is all going to go south if we have a second season, but for the time being, this is what it is.
You know what is a real mess? This year's Saimoe. With the administrators clamping down on fake votes, all the steam, all the energy from this year's edition of the tournament went out and what was left was an unprofessional clusterfuck that is even worse than what you argue on my fic, which I actually made the effort to assemble. My fics are not going to be completely canon. Walk-ON! and the two sequels weren't canon. Ding Dong wasn't canon. Roadshow was an original story and Poke-ON! is an alternate universe crossover. Are those clusterfucks too? If that's the case, every fic is, but you clowns still read them and write them. They will exist, whether you like it or not. Just like this year's 2013 Anime Saimoe Tournament, which has been decried by many as a clusterfuck in an of itself.
One more thing: ante up and post your reviews with a registered account on FF.net. Since this was anonymous, and I can't reply to it, I have to remove it while laughing out loud. Well, I am still laughing out loud, because if I hit you hard with this fic, Rebellion fanboy, I've done my job. Cheers!

Madoka Kaname defeats Sayaka Miki to win Saimoe Prime Minister's Office

Bells were ringing and fireworks lit up the skies of Tokyo and Mitakihara Town as Madoka Kaname defeated Sayaka Miki 277-191 to win the Saimoe Prime Minister's Office for the 2014 session. Kaname will be sworn in on New Year's Eve at the end of the year.

"She did it! She did it!" exclaimed an anonymous supporter, crying tears of joy. "I can die happy now! I regret nothing! My goddess now rules this country! I have nothing to fear!"

"This an exciting day for Mitakihara Town," said another Kaname supporter, wiping away tears. "We will never forget this day, for as long as we live. Mitakihara salutes our Goddess of Hope!"

"It was an expected result," said Mami Tomoe via phone. Tomoe had won the office two years ago and finished sixth in the race overall this year. "I think Miki-san is content that she finished runner-up to a deserving winner. I am confident Kaname-san can lead this country forward. We are proud of her."

"I think Madoka will do an amazing job leading Japan forward next year and she plans to collaborate with Tokyo 2020 on their initiatives to make the Olympics successful," Miki said via phone interview. "I'm happy with this result. Even though I finished runner-up, I believed that Madoka deserved to win."

Kaname and her wife, Homura Akemi, were unavailable for comment because they were flying back to Mitakihara to relax and rest, presumably at Akemi's residence. Akemi will assume the Saimoe Deputy Prime Minister position next year.

"You knew that Madoka was going to win it, no doubt," Kyouko Sakura said via videoconference from the bus returning to Mitakihara. "Everyone knew it was going to happen. It just needed that final push and it would be over like that. So we have someone with a big, pure heart and good, brave intentions leading the way and the one that controls everything is her right-hand woman. This country's in good hands."

"I think Madoka-san is going to do a great job because she's a nice person and brings a smile to my face," Nagisa Momoe said. "I can't dislike her. I like what she stands for and her message. I want Madoka-san to do her best. We're with you all the way, Madame Prime Minister Madoka-san!"

"This country's going to be in excellent hands because she shares the same beliefs I stand for as the leader of my country," said President of the United States Barack Obama. "Her platform is on hope and progress and she is an inspiration to the people she is with. I think she will do a wonderful job standing tall with the people of Japan."

"We are happy for Kaname-san because her message resonated with the people," said Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe. "I look forward to working with her to make this country successful next year. No one represents the true essence of Japanese popular culture like Kaname-san. I hope she does her best."

"I called for it before the polls opened," Toki Onjouji, the outgoing Saimoe Prime Minister, said via phone interview. "It would be a slow start, and the race would be close, but near the end, the match would be decided, and the neutral voters will have pushed Madoka over the top. I congratulate Madoka and I think she will make Japan proud."

"Me and Ayase were the two candidates that tested Madoka," said International Saimoe League champion Ruri Gokou, who finished fifth overall in the race in Japan. "Ayase was the only one that won, but she would receive her comeuppance. I think I really had the best chance to upset her but once I found out I lost, this race was hers to lose.

"I look forward to working with her on ways to improve the Saimoe movement in Japan and abroad."

This historic result means that four of the five members of the Puella Magi Holy Quintet have placed top two at least once, with Akemi being the lone exception. In addition, with her third-place finish and victory on Saturday night, Madoka Kaname becomes the most accomplished contestant in the history of the 2channel Anime Saimoe Tournament, which determines who wins the coveted office.
